The Process of Converting Estimate into QuickBooks
Getting Ready to Prepare Estimates in QuickBooks
Step 1: Open QuickBooks and sign in as an Administrator. After that, click the “Edit” tab on the menu bar.
Step 2: On the slide-out menu, you will see “Preferences”. Click it
Step 3: In the Preferences window, click the option “Jobs & Estimates”
Step 4: Select the “Company Preferences” option.
Step 5: Choose “Yes” right beside the option “Do you want to create estimates”
Step 6: Select the “OK” key and save the changes.
Create an Estimate in QuickBooks
Step 1: Select “Customers” visible on the menu bar, and select “Create Estimates”.
Step 2: Choose the customer from the “Customer” drop-down button/ type the name and address details manually.
Step 3: Type the line items accordingly in the Estimate just like preparing an invoice.
Step 4: Select “Save” visible on the toolbar, and save the Estimate.
Convert Estimate to Invoice in QuickBooks
Step 1: Select “Customer Center” visible on the toolbar, and then choose the “Customers & Jobs” option.
Step 2: Select the specific customer’s name you have created the Estimate for. Select the “Show” button, and then choose “Estimates”
Step 3: Do a double-click on the specific Estimate, which has been prepared for the customer. The estimate will start on the QuickBooks window.
Step 4: Select the “Create Invoice” key at the upper part of the estimate form. QuickBooks will convert the estimate and will show the customer data along with the line items in a separate new invoice window. You can edit/alter the line items whenever required.
Step 5: Select the “Print” key to take the invoice printout right away.
Step 6: Select “Save” to save the required invoice.
