You will be facing Run Time Error 75 Path File Access Error Windows 10 when the .DAT file gets locked. It also happens when firewall or antivirus blocks the access, it also happens when files are used by some other program.

Step 1: By trying again

  • When you see the error message, just close it
  • Check that the generation number that is granted to you is not used previously
  • Try to generate it again

Step 2: Make EFT run as the administrator

  • Right click on the icon EFT present on the desktop
  • Then click on Run as administrator
  • And then try to generate it again

Step 3: Check that the UAC settings are turned off

  • Go to the Control Panel and open it
  • Click on the User Accounts and then select the Change User Account Control Settings, you can also look for UAC in search
  • Then select the option saying, Never notify
  • If prompted, then reboot your system
  • Then try again to generate the payroll in EFT

Step 4: EFT data is stored in C:\Program files (x86) \EFTSIMPLY, whereas Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 are in use

  • Go to the explorer and browse the C:\program files (x86)\EFTSIMPLY\
  • tap on View Compatibility
  • Then get the data folder opened
  • Ensure that .DAT files are deleted and not the .MDB file from the location of original working directory and also from the virtual store
  • If you can’t delete one file
  • Reboot your computer
  • Then delete all the .DAT file
  • Then try generating your file

Step 5: EFT data is locally stored and not on server

  • On the local C:\ drive create the working directory, a new one
  • As an example, C:\myEFTdata\
  • You can always refer Related Resources to know how new company is created in EFT
  • Then close the EFT
  • Now, get all the data you have to the folder of new working directory in C:\ drive
  • Rename this currently existing folder of working directory
  • When you will open the EFT, you will be prompted by a message to specify the Sage 50 data directory and working directory. Choose the existing Sage 50 data and new working directory
  • Now save these settings and then if asked to get the old company data deleted, select No

 Step 6: Working Folder or you MDB file are corrupted

  •  Close the EFT
  • Then go to working directory and delete all the files stored here
  • Then open the company and EFT. It should be able to import the vendors, employees and customers afresh
  • Then add the applicable vendor, employee banking info, customer in EFT again
