Troubleshoot Error: “Sage 50 cannot find the Connection Manager”

Method I:

  1. Open Sage 50 Connection manager
  2. If the service doesn’t open, select Start Service.
  3. If the service is already working, press Stop Service, after it has discontinued then select Start Service.
  4. Hold on till Status Running specifiesYes.
  5. Press OK.
  6. Open your company file again.

Method II:

  • Go to Control Panel, select Administrative Tools and Services
  • Run Sage 50 Database Connection Manager.
  • Click to start.
    • Select Stop followed by Start.
    • In case, both Start and Stop tabsare grey, modify the startup from Deactivated to Automatic, the restart.
  • Press OK.

Method III:

  1. Find the IP address of the server.
  2. Go to Start, type cmd on Run command.
  3. DOS window will appear, write ipconfig and Enter.
  4. Write IPaddress – IPv4 Address.
  5. Run Sage 50 and then open company account.
  6. Below File title type \\ipaddress of the server and Open.
  7. Find the server shared folder.
  8. Open thedata file again.

Method IV:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Take backup of the registry via File-Export; ensure to mark All in the Export Array.
  3. Find the following registry sub key:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\PresentControlSet\Control
  4. Do right click on control, then New and DWORD value.
  5. Write ServicesPipeTimeout and ENTER.
  6. Do right click on ServicesPipeTimeout and select Change.
  7. Select Decimal, a categoryof the digit of milliseconds that you wish to wait till the service times out
  8. Press OK.
  9. Exit from Registry Editor and reboot PC.

Method V:

  1. Go to Control Panel, choose Administrative tools and Services.
  2. Discontinue DHCP Customer.
  3. Run Sage 50 Database Connection Manager.
  4. If no error message, run DHCP Customer.

  5. Download the simplyconnection-DHCP.bat and place it in All Users, Start-up Folder.
  6. To goStart-up folder for All Users:
    1. Do right click on the Start tab.
    2. Press Open all Users.
    3. Select Programs and then Start-up folder.

  8. Select the content, copy it and paste it somewhere and then save as “simplyconnection-DHCP.bat” file in the All Users start-up folder.
  9. Below Services in the control panel, choose Sage 50 Connection Manager modifystart-upcategory from automatic to manual.
